Restaurant POS hardware: the questions we get asked most
Straight answers about what to buy, what it works with and what happens after it ships. Every price on this site is shown and charged in US dollars.
What POS hardware does a restaurant actually need?
Most restaurants start with one POS display at the counter, a payment terminal, a kitchen display for the line and a receipt printer. From there you add handhelds for table service, an expo screen for pass and pickup, drive-thru headsets, or delivery gear if you run your own drivers. You can buy one station now and add the rest later.
Can I buy one device now and add more later?
Yes. Every device is sold on its own, with the price on the page, so you can start with a single station and grow one piece at a time. Nothing here requires a bundle, a contract or a minimum order.
Is there a contract, monthly fee or lease?
No. Hardware on this site is a one-time purchase — you buy the device and it is yours. There is no rental, no lease and no monthly hardware fee.
Does it work with my current software and card processor?
Every device here is built to work with the Meniuu ecosystem out of the box, so POS, payments, kitchen, expo, drive-thru and handhelds stay in sync from the first order. If you run other software or a specific card processor, message our team before ordering and we will confirm compatibility for your exact setup.
Which payment methods do the terminals accept?
The payment terminals accept chip, swipe and contactless cards, plus phone wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Each product page lists that device's exact connectivity and payment specs.
Can we keep taking orders if the internet goes down?
Service should never stop because of your connection. Connectivity options, including cellular and Wi-Fi, are listed on each product page — tell our team how your restaurant connects and we will recommend the setup that keeps orders moving during an outage.
Will a screen survive heat and grease in the kitchen?
Kitchen displays are built for the line: sealed, heat and grease resistant, and wipe-clean between shifts. Expo screens are large-format for pass and pickup. Mounting options for wall, arm or counter are listed on each product page.
How long does a handheld battery last in a full shift?
Handhelds are made for a full service without leaving the floor. Battery and charging details for each model are on its product page, and our team can size the right number of spares for your shift length.
How fast does it ship, and what does shipping cost?
Standard delivery is 3–7 business days and express is 1–3 business days, shipped from our US warehouse. Standard shipping is free on orders over $500.
What warranty and support come with it?
Every device includes a 2-year limited hardware warranty with advance replacement on covered failures, and 30-day returns on unopened hardware. You can reach our team by email at contact@meniuu.com or on WhatsApp at +1 (408) 721-6052.
